OUR TEAM
Our firm embraces a team philosophy, with a design process driven as much by client collaboration as architectural experience. We are passionate about design, about people, and about the environment around us, and we bring that passion to seeking a unique solution for each project and client. We approach each opportunity with open minds and without a preconceived notion of what should be. Whatever the particular program or design intention, we hope to create something timeless, a project that transcends stylistic trends, and reflects the best intentions of the team that conceived and created it.
Brett was raised in Portland, where he graduated from Lincoln High School. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute and worked in New York City for a number of years before returning to Portland to start a family. He worked at SERA Architects and FFA Architects before starting his own firm in 2002. When not practicing architecture, Brett loves to be outdoors: skiing, running, racing vintage motocross, camping and hiking. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Shea Gilligan moved to Portland, Oregon from Brooklyn, NY in 2015 and is very happy to call the upper left corner home. In her free time, Shea and her husband, Sean have been remodeling an old service station "Jack's Station" in St. John's, Oregon.
Jenny Rodriguez has dreamed of being an architect since childhood and graduated from Portland State with her Masters of Architecture in 2019 and earned her Oregon license in 2023, after an undergraduate detour through International Business & Economics. While Jenny has worked on a wide spectrum of project typologies, creating housing is her true calling, particularly sustainable, affordable and infill projects that help create more diverse and walkable neighborhoods. In 2022 she earned Earth Advantage’s Sustainable Homes Professional certification and is eager to apply sustainable practices to affordable housing. Jenny is best described as a curious tinkerer and a maker at heart, when she's not designing something she is cooking something new, rock climbing or engaging in shenanigans with friends.
